A Wrinkle... ON TIME!

Wow... I actually posted a sketch on-time, AND it's of a female character, AND I'm happy with the results. Taken separately, these events might not mean anything. Taken together, and all from me, they may signal the End Times.

I'm really sorry.

Anyway, I've been reading A Wrinkle in Time again during brief breaks at work, and I'm remembering how great it is. I've read it before, and it's not that I "forgot" it was enjoyable or something... somehow I'm just getting more out of it this time. I don't know why.

I was thinking about the characters and the environments and so-on, and I wanted to try to draw Meg (Those of you who have read the book can tell me if I did a decent job). I wanted her to look slightly distressed, since that's where I am currently in the novel. Click on the thumbnail for a larger view... quickly, before I bring about the end of the world with my rare flash of responsibility:

That book was fucking stupid.

Actually it wasn't. But it wasn't one of my favorites.

It's been too long since I've read it to give you an accurate guess as to how much she resembles her literary namesake, but I DO dig the sketch. Once again I'm eternally infuriated at your ability to create clean ass confident linework like it ain't no thang.

If you just didn't like, you just didn't like it. I can respect that. I'm honestly thinking, though, that it's too much to take in as a kid. The metaphor and what-not is crazy.

Or maybe I'm nuts, who knows? Either way, I'm diggin' it, so forget you.

I like the drawing but can't remember exactly how meg was suppoused to look. The book was okay when I read it or at least thats how I remember it being. I liked the ball of wings quite a bit but I cant remember if that was because of its personality or just the idea of a sentient ball of wings amused me.
